About The Group

The Woodworking Group was established over twenty years ago as a self help club for those interested in all aspects of woodwork. We presently have thirty members, the majority of whom are wood turners but we also have a few wood carvers, a musical instrument maker and a boat builder.

The group is well equipped and owns a wide range of tools and machinery which are housed in a rented room at the Fisherrow Centre in Musselburgh. We were delighted to accept a generous grant from the Lottery Fund which has allowed us to replace four of our woodturning lathes, install a new bandsaw, tool sharpening systems and most importantly dust extraction and air filtration systems. The latter has greatly improved the environment we work in.
